Etherion Membership Requirements (for PLA leases):

…where a Member leasing a PLA site is not a resident,
….. it is a condition of membership to spend at least three (3) nights per season [winter, spring, summer, autumn] at Etherion,
… thus at a minimum there need to be two (2) visits of six (6) days on each of two ‘season-crossovers’ (six months apart approx), or four (4) visits of three (3) nights, one set in each season ....

… if this condition of membership is not met, and two seasons pass [ie; within the third], then a notice will be sent to the last known address of the member highlighting the situation, and the concerns of the other members ….
…a further notice will be sent in the fourth season, and if no response is received and there is no resolution to the situation, then
…at the beginning of season five (5), a period of six months after the member has visited, a notice will be listed for the following seasons’ Community Meeting to determine the ongoing status of the Membership,
[ie; at beginning of season six (6)] …
If no contact has been received and there is agreement of 2/3 of the members present [min. quorum of 30 members]
… then the membership in question will be down-graded to “inactive member” status, [a later post will deal with the restrictions this status may have] ….

… a period of two seasons [six (6) months] will be allowed to elapse to ensure the “inactive” member has an adequate opportunity to re-establish contact …
then at the beginning of season nine (9), an application can be made [by any Member] for an Agenda Item [code is A4DOM …. application for discontinuation of membership] at which time the original quorum, plus at least 10 additional Members, must be present to decide whether the Membership should be discontinued ...
where a Member from the original quorum cannot be present that space must be filled by an additional Member ….

… if the meeting votes for this [by a 2/3 agreement], a notice will be posted at the property of the former Member, and control of this property will be allocated to a Sub-Committee of at least two (2) current resident Members, who will examine the options for Sale of the Lease [code is SOTL]

…at this point a Registered Mail Notice will be sent to the former Member’s last known address with details of the agreement that the Etherion Community meeting has reached, and setting out the requirements for any future visit that the former member may choose to make [this is set out in a later post] …

….then a Notice of Sale will be exhibited at the property [two (2) week period], and a copy placed in the local community [Guyra and surrounding district] newspaper, and invitations will be sought for this sale, both within the Etherion Community and from interested others, [subject to the standard guidelines for any Membership sale) …

…. If a buyer is found and approved, [for Etherion Community Membership] then a General Meeting of the Etherion Community will be called to approve this action …
… at this meeting a quorum of 2/3 of the current residents at Etherion will be required to approve this sale, if this cannot be met, a motion may be called to either act with the current quorum [all the original Members who approved ‘discontinuation of membership’ must be present] , or re-list the Agenda Item to another meeting …

It's not right to put conditions on how many times a member visits the Etherion property.

We know that many people have obligations and conditions in there lives that restrain them from property visits.

I believe that once you become a member (that is pay the membership fee and agree with the community visions statement) you should understand that this means you are involved in helping to build the Etherion community.

Members should state how long, what and when they can offer their assistance to Etherion.
This is so we can be efficient in organizing tasks and structuring the Etherion community lifestyle together.

.....yes this is true .the purpose of my post is to start people thinking and help them resolve this ..'potential' ..issue ....i do not yet 'see' the whole picture and until I can I won't be able to make the ... 'commitment that I want to make' ...because I see that we are still at a stage of involvement with this land where it is still a 'farm that has been bought by George and Christine' ...cheers MontyPaul
